The honor was announced Wednesday at a gala event hosted by High Point University and is featured in the special Fast 50 section included with this weeks (Sept. 17-26) edition of The Business Journal. The awards are sponsored by accounting firm Smith Leonard and Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Co. Through a confidential process, nominations are submitted to Smith Leonard, which verifies each companys revenues and then ranks the nominees based on a formula that factors in both dollar and percentage change for their three most recent fiscal years.
